Medical
AirArmor is Registered with the FDA as a
Class 1 Medical Device as a Lateral Knee
Orthosis, with or without adjustable
extension stops.  This means that your
Doctor may determine that he can write a
prescription for your AirArmor.

The Insurance Industry Code for AirArmor
is "L1843".

After your doctor writes the Rx you can
take it to a brace shop (DME provider) the
Doctor recommends or to one listed on
this site under
Distributors.
When you arrive for your appointment with the
Durable Medical Equipment (DME) provider, the
Orthotist will measure:

1. Thigh Circumference 6 inches above the patella
center.
2. Inseam
3. Waist.

...and your AirArmor will be shipped from the
Tucson Factory to the DME facility, typically
within 24 hours.

The DME facility will process your insurance
paperwork and charge you for your portion, if
any, of the costs.
